How is the course trained and assessed?

Training and assessment will be delivered by a qualified Trainer & Assessor with industry experience.

All students will be required to undertake pre-course reading to ensure an understanding of the learning content that will be reviewed in the class contact time. If this reading is not completed, the student may not pass the written assessment part of the course. The written assessment is not a multiple choice assessment; you will be required to write your answers in English.

The course is delivered with both theory and practical elements and is completed via a simulated work environment. The delivery of training will include a mixture of classroom delivery, practical activities, and group discussions. Please be aware that that there is a lot of writing to be done on Day 1.

Assessment is used to provide you with feedback on your progress and to measure your skills and knowledge against the training qualification requirements and those of the industry. The assessment process will include written and practical assessments.

(Day 1) will be a day of theory (enrolments forms, review questions, powerpoint presentation, powerline distances, OHS, what paperwork is required when working on a site, and how to fill it out correctly, revision of Study Guide, how to tag out a machine, written assessment, etc.)

(Day 2+3) will be a day of practical on the Wheeled Front End Loader, or Tracked Front End Loader (parts of the machine, how to grease it, pre-start & pre-operational checks, techniques on using the machine, practical exercises, shut down & secure machine procedures, post-operational checks, etc.)

After successfully completing the course/assessment, you will be issued with a temporary Assessment Summary Notice. This is evidence you are competent on a wheeled front end loader. Once the paperwork has been processed, we will post out you your Statement of Attainment for a Nationally Recognised unit of competency. You will also be issued with a photo ID Operator Qualification Card.

After completion of initial course, it is recommended that participants be reassessed every 5 years so as to maintain competency.
